If you own a retail store, you are responsible for arranging your merchandise and installing fixtures that will show off your products and attract customers. type of display is the counter at which your money registers are kept. It is important to keep this area of your store looking tidy and organized because customers spend lots of their time in your store at the counter. Installing a distinctive or aesthetically fascinating counter fixture will keep customers intrigued as they stand in line in front of it and complete transactions at it.

Prepare to put in your counter. Have it delivered to your store or arrange to have it transported there. Collect all of the tools that you will need to put in the counter. In case you have hired a carpenter or contractor to put in your counter, arrange for him to be there when it is delivered.

Select the counter display fixture that you would like to put in in your store. You can buy fixtures at hardware stores, through companies that sell retail store fixtures wholesale, or you can make your own counter display using found objects from antiques stores or flea markets. An advantage to purchasing a brand spanking new counter fixture is that it will come with installation instructions & the necessary hardware to put in it; however, found objects may lend a more eccentric feel or vintage atmosphere to your store.

Install the counter. In the event you would like to be able to move your counter to another area of your store in the future, attach caster wheels to its bottom using screws & a screwdriver. This will keep the counter mobile & permit you to basically change your store's layout. Buy caster wheels that you can lock in to place to prevent your counter from moving when you are using it. In the event you don't require it to be mobile, place the counter in the desired location in your store.

Complete the installation. If the counter's top is separate from its lower portion, attach the pieces by hammering nails through the lower portion of the counter in to the bottom of the countertop. You may even be able to fasten these pieces together using screws & a screwdriver. Use a level to be positive that your countertop is even. Change it as necessary.
