How to control the museum showcase light?

When designing and setting up museum showcases, light control is a very important issue because over- or under-irradiation can cause damage to the exhibits inside the showcases, thus affecting their value and ornamental effect. The following are some suggestions on how to control the light in museum showcases.

1.Understand the light needs of exhibits. When designing the showcase, you must consider whether the exhibit needs low light, high light or even light, etc. According to the needs of the exhibits, you can choose different lights and lamps to ensure that the exhibits get the best lighting effect.

2. Use adjustable lighting. When setting up display lighting, using adjustable lighting can effectively control the brightness and color of light to meet the needs of exhibits. At the same time, adjustable lighting can also help display staff in different scenes to adjust the lighting to get the best display effect.

3. Avoid direct sunlight. Direct sunlight is one of the biggest threats to exhibits, as it can cause color fading, surface deformation and damage to exhibits, etc. In the museum exhibit design, should avoid direct sunlight to the exhibits as far as possible, such as the installation of special insulation glass on the windows or the use of sunshades, etc.

4. Avoid excessive lighting. When lighting exhibits, excessive lighting will also cause damage to exhibits, excessive lighting may make the  color become light, and even lead to some materials out of shape, affecting the preservation time and value of exhibits. Therefore, when setting up exhibit lighting, excessive lighting should be avoided as much as possible to keep the exhibits intact.

5. Regularly check the exhibit lighting system. Regular inspection of the display case lighting system, including lighting equipment, light bulbs and lighting circuits, can identify problems and solve them in time. If you find any problems such as fused bulbs, shorted wires or loose lamps should be solved immediately to avoid damage to the exhibits.
